Safe Mobility in the Pandemic
Company: Iomob · Role: UX Lead · Date: 2020
Iomob is the mobility platform up to be plug and play to any app or website. It integrates a wide range of mobility services that can be accessed via APIs, SDKs, or using a white-label app solution.
The company offered an on-demand mobility platform designed to help rail operators integrate their services with more public and private mobility services. With it, any rail provider can launch their own MaaS (Mobility as a Service) solution, using their brand.
Users planned their trip by train and could add the first and last miles of their trip or added them later, thus enjoying a door-to-door trip.
At the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, passengers were concerned about their safety when using these new mobility solutions. How might we make them feel safe using them?
I designed a solution whereby users can rate each mobility solution based on social distancing and cleanliness measures. In the application, the options could be filtered according to the grade they have obtained from the users.
In the case of motorcycles, information was provided on the frequency of disinfection of vehicles, and if a spray is offered to clean the helmet or gloves available to the user.
The cars had a high rating in safety because they were disinfected after every usage. So, in this example, the user decided to travel the last mile in a car (Carsharing) is the most comfortable and safest option for them.
